Low tide on the beaches of Monterey Bay calls for an outing. You can get a closer look at life in the tide pools, where a miniature sea world is exposed. This was the third carving I produced for Enanimals, and has been a time line for me to take notice as my enamel skills improved. It wasn’t until I realized that with great care and patience, that I could use several colors in one piece. The challenge is keeping them in place before the piece is dry. If you can imagine, I am laying down tiny grains of glass using water as a means for application. Thus the difficult task is keeping the enamel in place on a carved surface with out colors mingling. It is possible!
