The word rhinoceros comes from two Greek words: Rhino means nose, and ceros means horn. Rhino horns grow as much as three inches a year, and have been known to grow up to 5 feet long. It is no secret that the horn of a rhino is highly sought after and for this the species has become endangered. I choose wild life as my main focus because of my great reverence for the animal kingdom. There are many of us who are attracted to the unique frame of the rhinoceros. This was the second carving I made using the EDM die making technique. He was the beginning of my signature line of Enanimals. Here I show the rhino grazing peacefully on the grass-lands.
