This design has been part of Enanimals since 1989 and in this piece I can see how my work has evolved the most. When I first started enameling, I used the traditional technique of basse-taille; the application of a single color. Shading is achieved in the layering of enamels, and the depth of the carving. By adding a variety of colors, the details in my carvings come alive, especially where fur, feathers, or water is involved. This design is very powerful, the reason I chose this image for my business card.
